Paul Appnel (3050)

1/13/2006: About 3:30 a.m. a local officer took note of Appnel in various locations in downtown Wilkes Barre acting suspiciously, correctly anticipating that he would attempt to rob a convenience store. Appnel was ordered to stop as he fled to his getaway car. He turned his weapon to the officer, who fired 10 shots. Appnel was found on the roadside of I-81 nearby bleeding to death. The officer was later awarded the "Combat Cross" for the incident. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1559783/posts
